1. “Penguin Dance”

An original wood carving by local carver Sonja Maloney, embodies the magnificent loon living here in the Northwest. Their wild calls and haunts of pristine lakes have made these birds a symbol of wilderness. The “Penguin Dance” represents just one of the many rituals these most primitive of living birds perform. Paddling furiously while running through the water in an upright position is done to ward off other males in the area. The carving is 1⁄2 life size and stands approx. 10 to 12 inches high on a water like base. Support the preservation group in our area.
